About The Position

Geisinger is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Primary Care team in Pottsville, PA. This site qualifies for a $20k recruitment incentive for an experienced provider. At Geisinger, you’ll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on your patients’ lives with extended appointment times (40 minutes for medically complex patients, 20 minutes for average complexity and acute care visits), a collaborative care model with physician/APP panel sharing and daily huddles, and comprehensive support from a dedicated team including pharmacists, care managers, health managers, clinic health associates, coding educators, a centralized prescription refill team, and a nurse call center. The role utilizes Epic EMR with Ambient dictation and offers expanded access to care through eVisits, patient portals, and Geisinger ConvenientCare urgent care clinics. Geisinger Pottsville is located 60 miles southwest of Scranton and just 2 hours from Philadelphia, offering a blend of small-town living with the support of a major health system.

Requirements

• The successful Physician Assistant candidate will work under the responsibility and supervision of the physician and require completion of an ARC-PA (or predecessor organization) approved physician assistant program, current NCCPA certification or eligibility and Pennsylvania State licensure.
• The successful Nurse Practitioner candidate will work in collaboration with the physician and have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or be eligible to hold national certification that allows the NP to work with the patient populations and location settings associated with this position.
• Must be eligible for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of PA.
