About The Position
The Department of Urology at Albany Medical College is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team. This role offers a focused opportunity to provide expert care for patients with Urologic Cancer while also supporting the broader urology practice. This is a full-time position with a Monday-Friday schedule, clinic hours from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Upon completion of onboarding and training, four 10-hour days may be available.
Requirements
- License and active registration as a registered nurse/nurse practitioner or physician assistant in New York State
- Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Familiarity working in electronic medical records
- Collaborate effectively across various departments to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care and a positive work environment
- Maintain HIPAA and patient confidentiality

Responsibilities
- Manage population of patients with urologic cancer including administration of cancer instillation treatments
- Conduct virtual and in person visits to review test results, discuss treatment options and provide patient education
- Order and interpret additional diagnostic testing when indicated
- Collaborate closely with attending urologists, nursing staff, and administrative support staff to ensure high-quality patient care
- Participate in the rotation for urgent urology add-on visits, which may include cases such as hematuria, elevated PSA, kidney stones, or acute infections
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic health record
