About The Position

Erlanger is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a high-volume Primary Care clinic located at Erlanger East in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In this role, the Advanced Practice Provider will deliver comprehensive primary care services, including the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions. Responsibilities include conducting thorough patient histories and physical examinations, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and prescribing medications in accordance with state regulations and clinical guidelines. The provider will play a key role in preventive care by performing routine health screenings, annual wellness visits, immunizations, and patient education focused on disease prevention and health maintenance. The position requires effective collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care and positive patient outcomes. The provider will be expected to manage a high daily patient volume while maintaining a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and patient satisfaction. Accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record is essential, as is adherence to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and clinical best practices.

Requirements

  • RN with a Master's degree in nursing certification in Family Nurse Practitioner; OR Graduate of a nationally accredited school of nursing or graduate of a Physician Assistant program.
  • Hold current or eligible licensure in the state of Tennessee.
  • Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee.
  • Eligibility to sit for certification in area of specialty.
  • BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward.
  • Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of three years experience as a provider in a clinic setting.
  • Certification in areas of specialty preferred.

  • Interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient's age-specific needs and provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures.
