About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (APP) will work weeknights at the West Ashley campus caring for adult post-surgical patients including ENT, GYN, Urology, General, Ortho, Plastics, and Endocrine. The APP would be the primary provider working alongside 2 Registered Nurses and a Patient Care Technician responsible for the assessment of post-surgical complications and providing intervention/treatment as needed. Complete discharge orders post op day one.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant or completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an APRN.
• AGPNP/ANP (Adult Gerontology Primary Care NP or Adult NP) certification type.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• If applicable, DHEC and DEA license applications must be started prior to first day.

Nice To Haves

• AGACNP/ACNP (Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner) certification type.
• Experience in an adult PACU, ICU, emergency department, surgical/trauma step-down unit, procedural recovery area, or another high-acuity setting involving airway management, hemodynamic stabilization, and postoperative care.
