About The Position

Sutter Lakeside is seeking a compassionate, patient focused APC Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physicain Assistant (PA) to join our outpatient Oncology/Hematology team. This role is ideal for an NP who values collaboration, patient education, and providing supportive care throughout the cancer journey. As part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will support patients from their initial visit through treatment planning and ongoing follow up.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Master's: Nursing
  • NP-California Nurse Practitioner by California Department of Consumer Affairs
  • NP-F - Nurse Practitioner Furnishing
  • RN-California Registered Nurse
  • CSRC-Controlled Substance Registered Certification (required if prescribing narcotics)
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Certification required based on the department requirements
  • 5 years of recent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated general knowledge and competence with regard to advanced nursing theories, concepts and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology.
  • Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations.
  • Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
  • Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record.
  • Prioritize and delegate assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
  • Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
  • Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
  • Build collaborate relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive new‑patient evaluations, including histories, physicals, and review of imaging/labs
  • Manage scheduled follow‑up care, monitoring treatment response, adverse effects, and overall health status
  • Assist in developing, adjusting, and implementing individualized treatment plans
  • Help prepare and coordinate infusion plans and documentation within the EMR/Beacon system
  • Provide guidance and education on medications, side‑effect management, and supportive care resources
  • Communicate with infusion nursing, pharmacy, care coordinators, and oncology support services to ensure seamless care
