Requirements

  • Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current Minnesota RN license and certification as a ACNP or ANP preferred.
  • FNP certification, prefer hospital-based nursing experience in Hem-Onc/BMT, ICU, Cardiology or Internal Medicine.
  • Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.
  • Registration with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) is required.
  • BLS and ACLS required prior to start date.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a comprehensive patient assessment, ordering and interpreting of appropriate laboratory tests and radiologic exams, diagnosis, treatment and management of chemotherapy side effects, and medical co-morbidities.
  • Manage side effects and complications from underlying co-morbidities, hematologic disease, and therapy, while collaborating with a Hematologist.
  • Consult and make referrals to physicians and other members of the health care team as appropriate.
  • Coordinate discharge planning.
  • Provide educational support to patients and their families.
