About The Position

Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, part of Allina Health, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its established Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Concussion Program. The role provides specialized outpatient care for patients with concussions, mild traumatic brain injuries, and post-concussion symptoms. The clinician works as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, neuropsychologists, physicians, and other rehabilitation specialists, with support from experienced PM&R clinicians and engaged leadership. The position is based at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, United Hospital, and Mercy Hospital Specialty Center. The schedule is Monday through Friday during daytime hours, with 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week. There are no call shifts and no regular weekend shifts; the posting also lists an occasional weekend rotation. The role involves follow-up appointments and, as appropriate, patient assessments; ordering and interpreting diagnostics in collaboration with an attending physician; prescribing medications, treatments, therapy, and medical equipment; patient education; and referrals for specialty care. The clinician consults physicians when a patient's needs are outside the APP's scope, supports communication across the care team, serves as a team resource, works with primary care on program development, liaises with outside agencies as needed, and may consult and round on hospital patients if designated by the specialty. The hourly pay range is $56.48 to $78.15. Starting pay depends on factors including experience, education, and any applicable union agreement; shift and other differentials may be available. Allina Health offers employee benefits and well-being resources, with eligibility and offerings determined by FTE and union representation.
