About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the Department of Critical Care provides advanced practice care for critically ill patients within one of the following intensive care service lines: Cardiothoracic/Transplant ICU, Neuroscience ICU, or Abdominal Transplant/Surgical ICU. Service line assignment at hire will be based on departmental needs and the candidate’s experience and qualifications. The Cardiothoracic/Transplant ICU cares for patients requiring advanced mechanical circulatory support, including ECMO and Impella, as well as patients undergoing heart and lung transplantation and complex cardiothoracic surgical procedures. The Neuroscience ICU provides specialized care for patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, neurologic conditions requiring intensive care, and those recovering from neurosurgical interventions. The Abdominal Transplant/Surgical ICU manages patients before and after liver and kidney transplantation.
