About The Position

Mayo Clinic is seeking to fill two positions as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in Hepatobiliary and Pancreas Surgery. These providers would be part of a collaborative team of surgeon consultants, fellows, residents, nurses, and other staff to provide hospital coverage managing the inpatient care of adult surgical patients undergoing complex liver, pancreas, gastric, abdominal wall reconstruction, endocrine, bariatric and breast procedures. There is a nocturnist position available along with a 24/7 position available. Our NP/PAs are valued members of a talented surgery team, where teamwork, learning, and collaboration happens naturally and is essential to meeting the needs of the patients for whom we provide care. The NP/PA hospitalist team conducts comprehensive assessments of patients including: ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, diagnosing, prescribing of pharmacologic agents, treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies where a high level of autonomy is expected. Providing care across this diverse patient population provides you the opportunity to hone your skills in several surgical specialties. FTE: 0.8 – 1.0 based on candidate preferences. Our schedules are collaboratively built within our NPPA team, allowing for valued off-time for personal pursuits, development, and life/work balance.

Requirements

  • Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and nurse practitioner program.
  • Current Minnesota RN license and certification, or eligible to be certified, as an ANP, ACNP, or FNP, DNP.
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by the NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.
  • Eligible for DEA registration.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated skill in working collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities
