About The Position

Sutter Medical Group (SMG) seeks to hire a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic Hematology/Oncology team in Jackson, CA! This role involves providing care in both outpatient clinic and inpatient consultative settings, managing patients with a variety of oncologic and hematologic conditions. The position offers the opportunity to utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment tools, access clinical trials and research support, and engage in multidisciplinary tumor boards.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited NP or PA program with appropriate national certification (e.g., AANP, ANCC, NCCPA).
  • California licensure eligibility and clearances (NP/PA licensure required).
  • Exceptional communication skills, comfortable working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment including patient/family interactions.
  • Licensed and certified as a Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP, FNP) or Physician Assistant
  • National certification required (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1–2 years of experience in hematology/oncology or a related specialty strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside a collaborative team of oncologists, hematologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, and support staff
  • Provide care in both outpatient clinic and inpatient consultative settings
  • Manage patients with a variety of oncologic and hematologic conditions, including solid tumors, anemia, thrombocytopenia, coagulopathies, and more
  • Participate in new patient consults, follow-up care, symptom management, treatment education, and survivorship planning
  • Utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment tools and have access to clinical trials and research support through the Sutter Institute for Medical Research (SIMR)
  • Engage in multidisciplinary tumor boards and case discussions
