About The Position

Introducing a challenging, rewarding opportunity for an advanced practice provider (APP) to join Outpatient Hematology at Mayo Clinic. We are seeking candidates who are innovative, collaborative, compassionate and committed to providing the highest quality care to patients. This APP will be an integral member of our Outpatient Hematology group practice. In this position, you will care for adult patients with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL). Your role will include comprehensive patient assessment, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and radiologic exams, diagnosis, prognostic interpretation, and ordering treatment per cutting edge clinical trial therapy as well as standard of care. You will be essential in management of treatment side effects and complications from disease process. Care of patients in this outpatient setting will range from asymptomatic patients on observation watching for disease progression, managing patients on active therapy, follow up of previously treated patients, to end of life discussions. In Outpatient Hematology, you will develop expertise within our comprehensive, supportive orientation process. You will be trained to work autonomously in a supportive team environment with other APPs, physicians, pharmacists, nurses, clinical research coordinators, fellows, and other support staff. In the Division of Hematology, you will benefit from professional growth opportunities to participate in research, quality improvement projects, and pursue leadership and development through academic rank. You will enjoy opportunities to educate and mentor students and other colleagues by serving as a preceptor, participating in journal club, and providing poster and oral presentations within and outside of Mayo Clinic.

Requirements

  • Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current Minnesota RN license and certification as a FNP, ANP or ACNP
  • Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice
  • Must be eligible for DEA registration
  • BLS required
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to maintain professional and compassionate relationships with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team

Nice To Haves

  • Hematology experience preferred
