About The Position

Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their GYN Surgical Oncology Department in a full-time position. This role focuses on GYN Surgical Oncology services, encompassing both benign and oncology care. Baptist MD Anderson offers a unique blend of community-focused patient care and an academic-oriented model, being one of only seven health systems in the US chosen to replicate MD Anderson Cancer Center's multidisciplinary model. The facility is a modern, state-of-the-art, 330,000 square foot patient-centered center dedicated to oncology patients.

Requirements

  • Experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Experience in GYN Surgical Oncology services (benign and oncology care)

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first assist in the OR.
  • Independently round on patients in the acute post-operative phase who are admitted to the hospital.
  • Provide post-operative wound care and pain management.
  • Timely collaboration with consulting physicians.
  • Coordinate discharge from the hospital.
  • Evaluate new consults.
  • Support as surgical first assist.
  • Provide laparoscopic and robotic surgical support when indicated.
  • Evaluate new and existing patients in collaboration with staff physicians and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Complete outpatient documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Perform clinic procedures as applicable.
  • Manage the surgical and medical oncology needs of the gyn oncologic patient.
