About The Position
The Mayo Clinic Health System Mankato General Surgery/Trauma Department is hiring for a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner. The current practice consists of 5 General Surgeons, including trauma, bariatric, and colorectal surgeons as well as 5 NP/PA’s. Due to relocation, the practice is looking to replace a PA/NP to maintain practice standards.
Requirements
- Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner qualification
Responsibilities
- Patient evaluations, such as, consultations and post-surgical care
- Functioning as first assist in the operating room
- Acute management of patients during level red trauma activations
- Ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests
- Formulating a diagnostic impression
- Developing and implementing a treatment plan
- Monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
- Prescription of pharmacological agents and non-pharmacological therapies
- Operative first assist
- Inpatient management
- Ambulatory care patient responsibilities
