About The Position

Enloe Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for their Northstate Cardiology department. This is a full-time, exempt position. The NP/PA will provide and coordinate direct patient care, offering diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative healthcare services under the direction of a physician. They will report to the Clinic Supervisor for operational and employee-related matters and are expected to consistently demonstrate Enloe Medical Center's core values, serving as a role model. In addition to clinic duties, the NP/PA may be required to work in the hospital on an as-needed basis. Enloe Health is a Level II Trauma Center in Northern California, committed to elevating community health through compassionate, person-centered care in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing (for NP).
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with the California Board of Registered Nursing (for NP).
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner Furnisher with the California Board of Registered Nursing (for NP).
  • National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner within 8 months of hire (for NP).
  • Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number or proof of application.
  • Current CPR (BLS) certification.
  • Current ACLS certification (required only for Electrophysiology subspecialty for NP).
  • Meets Centers for MediCal and Medicaid Services (CMS) criteria to bill Medicare (for NP).
  • Credentialed through the Enloe Medical Staff office and Finance office.
  • Confidence and experience to work independently with diverse patient populations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Graduate of a PA educational program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission (ARC) on Education for Physician Assistants (or its predecessor agency) OR current certification with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) (for PA).
  • Current California Physician Assistant License (for PA).
  • Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA), if not a graduate from an accredited ARC Physician Assistant educational program (for PA).
  • Current AHA-HCP CPR recognition (for PA).
  • Current ACLS recognition (for PA).
  • Behavior should be reflective of Enloe Medical Center core values (for PA).

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical experience in Cardiology (for NP).
  • Recent experience appropriate to the clinical area where practice will occur (for PA).

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate direct patient care.
