About The Position

Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with Family Medicine in Farmington, Utah. This is a full-time position, working four (4) days a week, with Friday being one of the working days. The role involves conducting physical exams, assessing patient health status, ordering and interpreting tests, prescribing medications, and treating illnesses. The position requires consultation with physicians for more complex cases, monitoring therapies, and providing continuity of care. Responsibilities also include triaging patient calls, evaluating patient problems, and counseling patients and families on preventive health care. Accurate documentation of patient information and care in the medical record is essential, and may involve maintaining department statistical databases for research. The role requires obtaining complete medical histories and physical data, reviewing patient records, and integrating data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in conjunction with or under the direction of a physician. Patient education and instruction regarding medications and treatment are key components, as is performing independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations, including CPR.

Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner: BSN required, MSN preferred; successful completion of advanced practitioner training and certification as a practitioner (general or specialized) from an approved nurse practitioner program.
  • Nurse Practitioner: Minimum three (3) years of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting, plus two (2) years of nurse practitioner experience.
  • Nurse Practitioner: State registered NP license; Current state license as an advanced registered nurse practitioner with prescriptive authority.
  • Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of accredited physician assistant program.
  • Physician Assistant: Four (4) years of health care experience prior to applying to PA program, plus one (1) year of experience as PA, preferably in clinic setting.
  • Physician Assistant: National certification from the NCCPA.
  • Physician Assistant: State registered PA license required.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Consults with physicians as needed and refers to physicians for more complicated medical cases.
  • Monitors therapies and provides continuity of care.
  • Triages patient calls and evaluates patient problems.
  • Counsels' patient/family on preventive health care.
  • Documents patient information and care in medical record and may maintain department statistical database for research purposes.
  • Obtains complete medical history and physical data on patients.

  • Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention; instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.

  • Performs independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations, including use of CPR.
