We are searching for a talented Nurse Practitioner/PA-C to join our Psychiatry Consult Service at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, MA.

Requirements

Masters of Science Degree in Nursing is required for a nurse practitioner.
Physician Assistance’s degree is required.
Certification from a National accrediting body to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant is required.
Current Massachusetts R.N. registration is required.
Nurse Practitioner/PA-C Certificate is required.
Experience in adult behavioral health population, appreciating specific interest or experience in Geriatrics.
Demonstrated standards of excellence, respect, communication, courtesy, enthusiasm, initiative and teamwork with the ability to develop complex patient management recommendations in consultation with attending Psychiatrist - is required.
Current license to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse (for Nurse Practitioner).
Certification (or current eligibility) issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice as a Registered Nurse in an expanded role is required (for Nurse Practitioner).
Current Nurse Practitioner license is required (for Nurse Practitioner).
Current license to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Physician’s Assistant is required (for PA-C).

Responsibilities

Provide consultation services as directed, and in support of Southcoast Department of Psychiatry/Behavioral Health and Southcoast Physician Group, under the rules and regulations of Massachusetts governing Nurse Practitioner/PA-C practice.
Participate in quality improvement endeavors as indicated, and assure adequate, timely, appropriate medical record documentation and billing.
