About The Position

UTHealth Houston is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join their Sugar Land team of urogynecology experts. This role will provide advanced nursing care to patients with lower urinary tract and pelvic floor conditions, including pelvic floor prolapse and urinary incontinence. The Nurse Practitioner will work with board-certified urogynecologists who offer a full spectrum of diagnoses and treatments for various pelvic health conditions. The position is within a comprehensive, multidisciplinary team trained in female pelvic health and advanced, minimally invasive treatments, with convenient locations throughout the Greater Houston area.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) State Licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) by Texas Board of Nursing (BON) required
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - Nurse Practitioner (APRN-NP) by Texas Board of Nursing (BON) required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) by American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • Clinical specialty certification determined by the department required
  • Master's Degree in Nursing as NP required
  • Master's Degree in Nursing with completion of a post-masters Nurse Practitioner Certification Program required
  • Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
  • Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Performs relevant patient assessments and physical examinations.
  • Coordinates, directs, and implements patient's plan of care.
  • Orders, conducts, and interprets pertinent laboratory and diagnostic studies and procedures.
  • Makes medical recommendations and/or referrals.
  • Formulates, implements, and evaluates an outcome-based treatment plan.
  • Maintains appropriate records detailing the patient's treatment plans and outcomes.
  • Facilitates patient education relating to medical processes, medication, nutrition, and health promotion.
  • Collaborates with patients, families, other clinicians, and referral services to assist in the patient's recovery.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
