About The Position

Axia Women's Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner with experience in Ob/Gyn to provide comprehensive, specialized care to women across the lifespan. This role focuses on reproductive health, gynecological issues, family planning, and wellness promotion. The Nurse Practitioner will practice under established company policies and legal requirements, conducting age-appropriate assessments, performing routine physical examinations (including pelvic and breast exams, PAP tests), and relevant infection screenings. Key procedures include IUD and Nexplanon insertions/removals, Endometrial Biopsies, and working with Pessaries. The role may also involve Colposcopies. The Nurse Practitioner will educate patients on women's health issues, preventative care, contraception, and lifestyle modifications, and will order diagnostic tests and prescribe medications within their scope of practice. A significant part of the role involves providing expert, compassionate care for women during the menopausal transition, managing symptoms, and offering evidence-based support. The position requires conferring with patients, collaborating with the healthcare team for seamless patient care, and performing systematic assessments of patients' physiological, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and cognitive status. Consultation with supervising physicians or other clinicians will be necessary based on patient needs. The role also includes reviewing medical records, establishing effective working relationships, applying safety principles, performing efficiently in emergencies, and demonstrating knowledge of legal issues like patient confidentiality and risk management. Requirements

Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MS, MSN, or DNP); with focus on Women’s Health highly preferred.
Board certification in WHNP, FNP, ANP, or similar.
Active NJ APN, CDS, and DEA.
Minimum 2 years’ Obstetrics & Gynecology APP experience required.
Strong understanding of healthcare principles, including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology.
Ability to analyze complex situations, make sound clinical judgments, and adapt treatment plans as necessary.
Effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Ability to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and procedures clearly and empathetically.
Strong computer proficiency and understanding and knowledge of EHR and healthcare technologies.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
Willingness to pursue continuing education and stay updated on advances in Women’s Health.
Must be able to work at each practice location as scheduled.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

Conducts age-appropriate assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination consistent with department protocol.
Performs routine physical examinations within scope of practice, including pelvic examinations, breast examinations, PAP tests, and any relevant infection screenings.
Performs IUD and Nexplanon insertions/removals, Endometrial Biopsies, works with Pessaries - education & maintenance; may perform Colposcopies.
Provides education on women’s issues, preventative care, contraceptive methods, and lifestyle modifications.
Orders diagnostic tests and prescribes medications within scope of practice.
Provides expert, compassionate care for women during the menopausal transition (perimenopause, menopause, postmenopausal) by managing symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings, and sleep issues, educating patients on treatment options (hormonal/non-hormonal), offering lifestyle advice (diet, exercise, supplements), and supporting overall well-being with evidence-based care.
Confers with patients in person and by phone/electronically, collaborates with others in the department to ensure a smooth flow of patient care consistent with established quality indicators and participates in the overall coordination of patient care.
Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing systematic manner, focusing on physiological, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy.
Consults with supervising physicians or other clinicians as dictated by patient need and assessment findings.
Participates with physicians and other clinicians in the department to ensure effective patient care consistent with quality indicators for patients cared for in the designated service.
Reviews medical record for follow up or ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols.
Establishes effective working relationships with members of the health care team, patients, and families.
Demonstrates knowledge of and applies safety principles as identified by the practice.
Performs efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate people, and documenting events.
Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning.
Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team.
Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities to document, track and convey information.
