Nurse Practitioner (NP)/ Physician Assistant (PA)- Urgent Care
About The Position
The Codman Square Health Center is seeking Nurse Practitioners ant Physician Assistants to work in the Health Center’s Urgent Care Department. The Health Center serves a diverse community and offers an array of services including primary care, urgent care, behavioral health, care management, nutrition, family planning, optometry, dentistry, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and medical specialty services, including HIV care, Substance Use care, Hepatitis C treatment, OB-GYN, Nephrology, Cardiology, and an STI clinic. The Urgent Care Department provides a highly collaborative team atmosphere, with a strong nursing team and with integrated behavioral health, social service, nutrition, and family planning services to collaborate with and support the urgent care providers. The Health Center is a teaching institution and opportunities for NP resident and NP/PA student teaching are available.. The Health Center has a close partnership with Boston Medical Center and is a member of the Boston Accountable Care Organization. Urgent Care Providers are integral in achieving this vision by providing high quality coordinated team based clinical care to health center patients and new patients to the health center or the community and linking patients to primary care and hospital based services. In addition, the provider is important to sustaining the health center through providing billable visits. The Urgent Care Provider is a participant in health center improvement work, and supports practice transformation including transformation into a Patient Centered Medical Home.
Requirements
- Must be a graduate of an approved Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- At least one year of NP/PA experience in a clinic, physician office or hospital setting required.
- Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods (50% of the time)
- Must be able to lift 10-25 pounds and load onto shelves.
- Visual acuity sufficient for frequent reading and computer use.
