Position Summary We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate is an experienced, motivated provider with a strong commitment to patient-centered care in a fast-paced, walk-in environment. This role requires flexibility and a willingness to travel between our clinic locations across the Greater New Orleans area.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
Current Louisiana licensure as a PA or NP
Certification by NCCPA (for PAs), or by ANCC or AANP (for NPs; FNP required)
Minimum of two years of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, family medicine, or primary care (three years preferred)
Current BLS/CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications
Active DEA registration and state prescriptive authority (or ability to obtain)
Proficiency in minor procedures and interpreting diagnostic test results
Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and patient engagement skills
Ability and willingness to commute to all The Urgent Care clinic locations as needed

Nice To Haves

Spanish language proficiency is a plus
Current DOT Certification (FMCSA Medical Examiner Certification) is a plus
Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and standard billing and coding practices
Familiarity with EMR systems and digital documentation workflows
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative clinical team
Commitment to professional development and continuous learning

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care, including assessments, physical exams, evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays, EKGs, and laboratory studies
Perform common urgent care procedures such as laceration repair, incision and drainage, splinting, and wound care
Prescribe appropriate medications and develop treatment plans consistent with current medical guidelines
Accurately document all patient encounters and maintain timely electronic medical records
Communicate clearly with patients about their diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care
Collaborate with supervising physicians and clinic teams to ensure continuity of care
Rotate between multiple clinic locations as assigned
