About The Position

Cedars-Sinai, a world-class healthcare organization, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Cardiac Surgery team. As an NP at Cedars-Sinai, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, contributing to patient care and impacting the lives of our patients. The Smidt Heart Institute is home to a distinguished team of experts who are setting the bar for cardiovascular care in the United States. The Institute unites 16 centers and programs to diagnose and treat the full spectrum of heart and vascular conditions for all patients, from infants to those with advanced disease. Compassionate care is integrated with an agile research enterprise, giving patients access to pioneering treatments. Our faculty and attending physicians provide deep competency across all specialties, including transplantation, stem cell therapy, congenital heart disease, women's heart health, valve disorders, arrhythmia, and hypertension. The NP is responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process, supervision of clinical practice, research involvement, consultative services, inter and intradepartmental liaison, education, leadership, and patient care management across the health care continuum from preventative, acute care through discharge. A Nurse Practitioner’s practice incorporates both independent decision-making abilities and collaboration with the board certified/eligible physician to provide expert care to the patients.

Requirements

  • Master of Nursing Degree
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program
  • Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License
  • National Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by respective accredited professional nursing organization such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)
  • Current NP Furnishing License
  • DEA license (schedule 2-5)
  • ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • At least 1 year of experience managing cardiac surgery patient population
