About The Position
Adelphi is seeking an Autonomous Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide examinations and preventive health services at a correctional facility in Virginia. The ideal candidate will be required to assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement care plans, and maintain medical records.
Requirements
- Active Virginia license
- NC License
- DEA certification
- BLS/ACLS certification
Responsibilities
- Works independently with minimal supervision to perform physical examinations and preventive health measures.
- Responds to and initiates care for medical emergencies throughout the facility.
- Order and perform diagnostic procedures.
- Prescribe controlled substances and devices in accordance with current regulations.
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
- Provides education to patient, healthcare, and correctional staff.
- Additional duties as assigned by facility.
