About The Position

CHPP Gynecologic Oncology is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our growing outpatient oncology practice in Babylon, NY. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team of gynecologic oncologists while providing comprehensive, patient-centered care to women with gynecologic cancers. You will collaborate closely with Dr. Jennifer McEachron, a board-certified gynecologic oncologist dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate care for women with gynecologic cancers. Dr. McEachron specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of ovarian, uterine, cervical, vulvar, and vaginal cancers, utilizing the latest evidence-based medical and surgical approaches to deliver individualized care. As part of a multidisciplinary oncology team, you will partner with physicians, nurses, genetic counselors, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and supportive care specialists to ensure seamless, high-quality care throughout each patient's cancer journey. The practice is also expanding with the addition of a second gynecologic oncologist, creating an excellent opportunity for professional growth and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current New York State Nurse Practitioner license
  • National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Oncology experience required
  • Current DEA registration
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Excellent communication, clinical assessment, and patient education skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in gynecologic oncology or women's oncology
  • Chemotherapy management experience
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary oncology team

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including detailed histories and physical examinations.
  • Evaluate and manage patients with gynecologic malignancies, including ovarian, uterine, cervical, vulvar, and vaginal cancers.
  • Order, interpret, and communicate laboratory and diagnostic imaging results.
  • Collaborate with gynecologic oncologists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Manage patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and supportive treatments.
  • Monitor treatment response, identify adverse effects, and adjust care plans as appropriate.
  • Assess and manage cancer- and treatment-related symptoms, including pain, fatigue, nausea, neuropathy, and menopausal symptoms.
  • Provide survivorship care, surveillance for recurrence, and long-term follow-up.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, expected side effects, and supportive care.
  • Coordinate care with surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, genetic counselors, nurses, social workers, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
  • Facilitate referrals, follow-up appointments, and continuity of care throughout the patient's cancer journey.
