About The Position

Fairview is seeking a Casual General Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join the General Surgery team at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. This is a casual position and will work on an as need basis to help cover leave of absences on the core team. In this role, you will work closely with a well-established community General Surgery group and an experienced group of Advanced Practice Providers (APP), caring for patients with a diverse range of general, breast, surgical oncology, reflux, abdominal wall reconstruction, colon surgery and bariatric disorders. Practice Details: Surgical patient care for a wide variety of conditions such as breast, oncologic, colon, foregut, complex hernia, endocrine, and bariatric in addition to general surgery Inpatient care including: Admissions and consults, daily rounding, operative assist, and discharge planning and education Provide first assist in the operating room Casual (as needed) scheduling Daytime hours: Monday – Friday 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM Additional weekend shift opportunities available

Requirements

Graduate of a school of nursing and accredited Adult/Gero or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner training program
BC/BE through the AANP or ANCC
Licensed or ability to obtain APRN license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing
Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
Ability to obtain ATLS within 6 months of hire
Experience in a Surgical practice is required
