About The Position

The Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics is seeking a nurse practitioner to join their growing practice. This role will serve children from birth to 22 years of age who have developmental and/or behavioral concerns, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, developmental delays, and intellectual disability with co-occurring anxiety or depression. The clinical position will focus on follow-up care for children, including medication management and ensuring developmental progress and access to services. The team is supported by programs like Access for Special Kids (ASK) for care coordination and transition support, and a dedicated nurse.

Requirements

  • Master of Science degree in Nursing with completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Registered and currently recorded with the Maryland Board of Examiners of Nurses.
  • Certified as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland.
  • DEA and CDS eligible.
  • CPR required.
  • ACLS/BCLS as required.
  • A minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
  • Demonstrates highly effective verbal and written communication skills are required to interact with patient families, departmental units, medical and nursing staff on all essential matters.

Responsibilities

  • Provide follow up of children for medication management and/or assuring developmental progress and access to services.
  • Demonstrates ability to promote professionalism through involvement in professional organizations, teaching, research, publishing, and/or certification in area of specialty.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s requirements relative to his or her population-specific and age specific needs.
  • Maintains updated mandatory training.
  • Updates immunizations as recommended per practice area.
