Nurse Practitioner Fellow - Dermatology
About The Position
The demand for dermatology services is escalating nationwide due to an aging population and the growth in the scope of dermatology practice. Lahey Clinic, an integrated group practice with over 100 years of history and more than 500 physicians, is an important teaching hospital for various medical professionals. To address patient needs, Lahey Clinic has developed a unique, intensive, full-time, residency-style program for certified nurse practitioners, established in 2003. This two-year program offers a thorough didactic and clinical curriculum designed to prepare trainees for any dermatology practice. Upon completion, trainees are eligible to sit for the national Dermatology Certified Nurse Practitioner examination. The program received accreditation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 2022. Lahey Clinic believes nurse practitioners are integral to modern medicine and sees dermatology as a field with significant specialization and growth opportunities, aiming to expand the presence of advanced practice nurses in dermatology services.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Master’s Program in Nursing or Doctoral Program in Nursing.
- Certification and current license to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Current and active DEA and Mass Controlled licenses.
- Written prescription privilege protocols signed by supervising physician.
Nice To Haves
- 1-2 years direct patient care experience as an advanced practice clinician, preferably primary care after graduation as an NP and prior to applying to NP Fellowship.
