This position will work collaboratively with a team of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to patients in the Emergency Room. This role involves both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities including clinical assessments, diagnostics, treatment planning, and patient education.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master’s or Doctorate degree.
  • 1-3 ER experience Required
  • License as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in Nebraska.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years ER experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides primary health/emergency care to all patients presenting to the Emergency Department and documents findings and actions on the ER record.
  • Gives patients or responsible party written and verbal instructions for follow-up care or other health information as needed.
  • Acts as advocate for the patient and as a representative of SRMC to the community.
  • May assist in employee health programs provided by the hospital.
  • Adheres to the standards of care as described by the profession and in the policies and procedures of SRMC.
  • Orders diagnostic tests as indicated by the patients’ condition. Provides continuity of care and proper patient follow-up when appropriate.
  • Make referrals to specialists when appropriate.
  • Maintains appropriate communication with other clinic providers.
  • Keep proper and complete medical records
  • Places appropriate billing codes on patient records.
  • Maintains clinical privileges for Sidney Regional Medical Center.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
