About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner — Cardiovascular — PRN Days role at Texas Health is an opportunity to bring your passion to a team that is Better + Together. This position will primarily support the Structural Heart (TAVR) and Heart Failure patient populations within a growing cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical program. Texas Health Plano is a Primary Heart Attack Center with a vision for continued growth and development of high acuity capabilities.

Requirements

• BSN, Bachelor's Degree Graduate of an accredited nursing program Required.
• MSN, Master's Degree Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program Required
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
• APRN - Advanced Practice Nurse Upon Hire Required
• NP - Nurse Practitioner Upon Hire Required
• 2 (Two) Years experience as a Nurse Practitioner
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support Upon—prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support –Within 30 days of hire preferred

Nice To Haves

• One (1) Years cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery patient experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Utilizes principles and skills in communication and interviewing techniques in obtaining a comprehensive health history to formulate a plan of care and make decisions for appropriate therapeutic interventions.
• Uses principles and skills in advanced health assessment for differentiating normal and abnormal findings.
• Synthesizes knowledge of physiology, pathophysiology, culture, and socioeconomics to access, evaluate, and provide therapeutic interventions to patients.
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to improve care processes in order to promote continuity of care.
• Initiates actions to meet patients/families.
