The Nurse Practitioner Behavioral Health will provide psychiatric assessment and diagnostic evaluation, order laboratory testing, and conduct comprehensive initial and follow-up psychiatric evaluations to assess patient needs and monitor progress. This role involves interpreting clinical data to determine appropriate management and treatment strategies, ordering and evaluating diagnostic/laboratory tests, and facilitating referrals to higher levels of care for complex medical concerns. The practitioner will develop and implement individualized patient management plans, prescribe and monitor medications, and provide comprehensive education on diagnosis, treatment options, and medication risks, benefits, and alternatives. Additionally, the role includes identifying acute psychiatric crises, coordinating immediate intervention, collaborating with medical staff and clinical teams, and participating in peer review processes.
