About The Position

Hartford HealthCare, the largest and most comprehensive healthcare system in Connecticut, has a new growth opportunity for an Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, to join our cohesive team to provide value-based care to patients in practice-based settings in Hartford Healthcare’s East Region. Oncology Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners provide value-based care in an ambulatory setting, and will be involved in triage and the spectrum of outpatient management including, but not limited to the following: Benign hematology visits, sick/urgent visits, chemotherapy education/teach visits, bone marrow aspirations, overseeing infusion follow up appointments, and ongoing survivorship care. This role offers the opportunity to assist in building a comprehensive cancer program within a close-knit group with a common goal of delivering compassionate and high-quality care to cancer patients. The supportive work environment includes approachable physicians who provide mentorship and training, and opportunities for professional advancement and training through Hartford HealthCare’s unique relationship with Memorial Sloan Kettering. Hartford HealthCare (HHC) Cancer Institute is a fully certified member of the Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) Cancer Alliance, an initiative designed to establish partnerships between MSK and local care providers to deliver state-of-the-art, evidence-based cancer care.

Requirements

  • Eligibility to be licensed in Connecticut as a Physician Assistant (PA), or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
  • Eligibility to be certified as a Physician Assistant (PA), or National Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), or Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP).
  • Chemotherapy Biotherapy provider card.

Nice To Haves

  • Oncology experience as a PA, NP, or RN is preferred.

Responsibilities
