About The Position

The Chattanooga Heart Institute offers the most comprehensive cardiac care available in this region. Founded in 1976, we now have six offices in Tennessee and one in Georgia. Our practice is made up of 29 board-certified cardiologists and three cardiothoracic surgeons. We merged with CHI Memorial Health Care System in 2011 which is part of CommonSpirit Health. CommonSpirit has more than 700 care sites across the U.S. and is committed to building healthy communities. As our Cardiology Nurse Practitioner, you will utilize your advanced training and skills to provide direct patient care within the Cardiology department, under the supervision of a physician. Every day you will assess, diagnose, and treat cardiology patients, manage their care plans, and ensure comprehensive, high-quality service delivery in collaboration with the medical team. To be successful in this role, you will be a certified Nurse Practitioner with specialized cardiology expertise, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to effectively collaborate with physicians to optimize patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • One year previous experience as an NP in an acute or primary care setting or equivalent RN experience, upon hire
  • Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse: TN, upon hire
  • Registered Nurse: TN, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Obtain medical histories when necessary.
  • Perform physical exams (within established protocol).
  • Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases (within protocol guidelines).
  • Order diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe or recommend medications for treatment (within protocol guidelines).
  • Promote positive healthy lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling.
