Job Summary Covering elective spine and colorectal surgery Hours: M-F (Approx. 7am-4pm) The ideal candidate works independently, has strong computer skills, communication skills as well is experience with EPIC. Ability to work with key physicians and office staff is a must. Nationally recognized for patient safety and quality, Memorial Hermann Katy features a 303-bed facility and a medical staff with disciplines that span a wide variety of specialties. As the only Level III Trauma Center in Katy, we are equipped to stabilize patients for transfer to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital when a higher level of care is required. Memorial Hermann Katy is part of Memorial Hermann Health System’s integrated trauma network, the only such system in Greater Houston. The network, which includes Memorial Hermann Life Flight®, provides lifesaving care for trauma victims before, during and after their injuries. Memorial Hermann Katy has been granted Magnet® recognition, an international distinction for nursing excellence and quality care by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and one of the highest honors a hospital can receive. The Nurse Navigator facilitates access to medical care for patients. Helps the patient/families navigate through possible barriers to care and ensures the patient is able to get medical access and referral resources in an efficient and expedited manner. Communicate effectively with patients, their families and their health care providers while offering medical guidance, education, support and advocating for patients to ensure proper coordination of care. The Nurse Navigator integrates education, research, management, leadership and consultation into their roles to achieve quality outcomes and to retain patient care within the Memorial Hermann Health System.
