Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Registered Nurse: AZ
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support
  • One year recent acute care experience, upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes for the patient.
  • Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient.
  • Demonstrates accountability for own ethical behavior, and supports ethical practice by addressing and/or escalating issues.
  • Serves as an advocate for patients needs by demonstrating holistic care practices.
  • Utilizes SBAR format tool to notify physicians, and other providers of clinical findings, performs nurse-to-nurse report at the bedside.
  • Recognizes limits of scope of practice, seeks multidisciplinary collaboration, utilizes appropriate resources, and follows chain of command.
  • Partners with others to affect change and generate outcomes through knowledge of the patient or situation.
  • Delegates tasks based on the needs of the patient, potential for harm, patient stability, task complexity, and outcome predictability within the scope of skill set and practice.
  • Assumes accountability for decisions made.
  • Participates as a team member by utilizing team skills and communication skills effectively on a daily basis.
  • Uses knowledge of cultural differences to provide patient care that is sensitive to and consistent with cultural values, beliefs, and customs.
