About The Position

This position is responsible for providing the administrative management and delivery of high-quality care for the Cardiology Services, Cardiac Cath Lab and Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Program on a 24-hour basis. Leads and directs the Cardiology, Cath Lab, and Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation departments. Collaborates with matrix leadership in the MUSC Cardiology service line to enhance quality of care, provider, and patient experience. Responsible to assess, plan, develop, organize, implement, control and evaluate services and activities for assigned departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing and five (5) years’ experience in clinical cardiac cath lab or bachelor’s degree in a healthcare or business-related field with one of the following: RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist) and two years of leadership experience
  • BLS and ACLS required.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements goals and objectives related to the cardiology service line.
  • Aligns programs with the hospital’s overall strategic vision and mission.
  • Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety and environmental and infection control standards.
  • Serves as the internal subject matter expert on relevant clinical quality metrics for the cardiology service line.
  • Collaborates with IT and third-party resources to develop clinical quality reporting platform to support activities around a Clinically Integrated Network.
  • Collaborates with service line and physician network leadership to monitor and disseminate quality data around MACRA and other third-party payment programs.
  • Develops and monitors budgets and is responsible for financial performance, cost management, productivity levels, and staffing efficiencies.
  • Monitors internal controls/compliance program to ensure proper clinical documentation and charges.
  • Works directly with hospital’s executive team to determine scope of services and program content.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Selects, trains, orients and provides overall management of assigned personnel; develops recommends and implements operating policy, systems and procedures.
  • Reviews and evaluates performance and recommend personnel action such as merit increases, promotions, and corrective actions.
  • Manages staff schedules and provides input on the annual budget preparation.
