The Nurse Manager (NM) is responsible for the management of nursing practice and operations on a designated unit/service setting such as inpatient, procedural, emergency department or ambulatory care. This includes, but is not limited to, the management of: clinical nursing practice, staff recruitment, retention, labor relations, supply chain and budget, daily staffing (as supported by the Center-Led Staffing Model), employee performance evaluation, quality improvement, staff education, medical record documentation, compliance with internal and external regulatory agency requirements and patient safety solution/corrective action plans. The Nurse Manager collaborates with multiple professionals to support and coordinate the provision / management of patient care inclusive of the patient admission throughout the discharge process appropriate to the setting. This individual works closely with the Nursing Director, unit Dyad partner and staff to ensure that the Service/Unit setting maintains the highest standards of patient care and is responsive to the needs of the patient & family as well as the organization.
