About The Position

The ASC Nurse Manager is the designated clinical leader responsible for maintaining the day-to-day clinical operations of the center and serves as the department lead of the OR, Endoscopy, Pre Admission Testing, Sterile Processing Department, Preop and PACU. This includes but is not limited to overseeing the scheduling of surgeries and procedures for maximum efficiency, day to day inventory control and annual physical count, QA/QI, staffing and productivity, preventative maintenance and safety, risk management and infection control. Interviews, hires, assigns work to and evaluates work performance of employees supervised and completes annual competencies. The nurse manager organizes and tracks quarterly peer review and reports to quarterly Quality Committee meeting. He/she manages oversight of the RL solutions for risk reports and escalates as necessary to the Administrator. The Nurse Manager is engaged in annual policy review, annual team member evaluation and competency/education training as well as new team member orientation and onboarding. The Nurse manager identifies and leads all clinical regulatory objectives to ensure compliance with AAAHC, AHCA, and other ASC specific requirements to ensure regulatory readiness . The Nurse Manager may perform patient care duties as needed to ensure operational efficiency and is expected to be proficient in all clinical areas of the ASC(Pre-Op, PAT, PACU, Endoscopy, OR and Sterile Processing). The Nurse Manager reports to and operates under the direction of the center Administrator. The Nurse Manager is responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Nursing
  • Registered Nurse
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • At least five (5) years of operating room experience
  • At least two (2) of those years in management/leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of AHCA, DOH, CDC, APIC, CMS, NFPA-99, AAMI and AAAHC regulatory requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form with patients, staff, physicians, vendors and care givers
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
  • Provide direction to others that is clear, concise and promotes efficiency throughout the clinical areas of the facility
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of surgical nursing (PAT, Pre-Op/ OR/PACU and SPD)
  • Ability to handle patient issues in a tact, professional way
  • Strong focus on team member engagement, staff morale and culture
  • Maintaining physician relations and positive provider experience
