About The Position

North Tampa Behavioral is seeking a passionate Nurse Manager to work at their adult facility in Wesley Chapel, FL. This is a full-time position with a mid-shift schedule (11am-7:30pm). The Nurse Manager will assist the DON/CNO with directing, planning, coordinating, monitoring, and supervising the effective and efficient use of nursing operations for assigned units. They will oversee the delivery of behavioral health/nursing services with a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude, collaborating with interdisciplinary treatment teams and other departments to ensure all resident needs are met. The role also involves ensuring compliance with regulations, maintaining patient safety, and managing unit operations.

Requirements

  • Current registered nursing license in State of facility required
  • Two years of registered nursing experience required
  • One year of prior experience with the population required
  • One year of charge RN or other administrative experience required
  • Current RN license as required by state.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
  • Requires a Level 2 Background Screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN or higher strongly preferred
  • Three years as a registered nurse strongly preferred
  • Two years of registered nursing experience with patient population of the facility is preferred.
  • Prior experience as a house supervisor strongly preferred
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility.

Responsibilities

  • Anticipates and effectively manages changes in census and acuity and allocates nursing resources based on measurement of patient acuity/care needed.
  • Role models expectations related to customer service and demonstrates a sense of urgency related to the importance of patient safety.
  • Accountable for the standard of care at the facility, providing consultations and expertise in the delivery of care to patients.
  • Serves as a clinical and service resource to nursing staff and other staff as assigned.
  • Manages the activities of staff, coordinating safe and appropriate care between departments and disciplines.
  • Manages and evaluates work activities of nursing, technical, clerical, service or maintenance staff for the unit, work group and other facility staff as directed.
  • Analyzes information/situation to choose the best solution(s) to solve problems.
  • Responsible for recruitment, hiring and training of new staff.
  • Identifies the educational needs of others and develops educational or training programs.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures for the facility.
  • Prepares reports to inform management of the status and implementation of programs, services and quality initiatives of the unit.
  • Performs administrative or managerial functions such as planning budgets and authorizing expenditures.
  • Provides direct care as needed.
  • Performs other functions and tasks as assigned.
