About The Position

UPMC Department of Pediatrics is hiring a full-time Nurse Manager to join their Allergy and Immunology team! This position is located at Children's Hospital but will require travel to satellite clinics at CHP South, CHP North, and CHP East locations. This is a Monday through Friday daylight position with no evening or weekend hours. The Outpatient Nurse Manager is a working clinical leader responsible for overseeing nursing operations, staffing, quality, regulatory compliance, and patient care across outpatient practices. The manager will maintain a daily presence in clinics to support staff, providers, and operational needs for clinical initiatives. The Division of Allergy & Immunology is a highly specialized, procedure-driven practice providing complex diagnostic testing, oral food and medication challenges, biologic therapies, and immunodeficiency care. Purpose: The Nurse Practice Manager maintains full accountability for leading and managing the human resources, clinical, financial and administrative operations of an assigned practice(s) in order to continuously improve the quality of patient care and create a healthy workplace for staff in collaboration with organizational leadership.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years Nursing Experience required.
Progressive leadership experience with relevant clinical experience preferred.
BSN or Bachelors in related health care field required.
Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse either in the state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is located.
CPR Certification CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Registered Nurse (RN)
Act 33 with renewal
Act 34 with renewal
Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.

Develop and optimize the clinical care tools of the practice and the physicians (scheduling templates, space, staffing mix and patient care protocols) that improve the quality of the overall product delivered to the patient.
