About The Position

Morrison Center is hiring a Nurse Manager to be based on-site at our Scarborough location. This newly created role provides clinical leadership and oversight for nursing services across Morrison Center programs. This position is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered nursing care while promoting regulatory compliance, medication safety, interdisciplinary collaboration, and continuous quality improvement. The RN Manager serves as the primary clinical resource for nursing staff and collaborates with program leadership to integrate medical and behavioral health services, enhance staff competency, and improve outcomes for individuals served.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Maine.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible nursing experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or community-based services preferred.
  • Experience with quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and clinical program development preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and support to all Registered Nurses.
  • Promote evidence-based nursing practice across all Morrison Center programs.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
  • Foster a culture of clinical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate nursing services across Adult Behavioral Health Home, Children's Behavioral Health Home, Community Supports, Specialized Living Options (SLO), and other applicable programs.
  • Ensure consistency in nursing practices and clinical documentation.
  • Assist with staffing, scheduling, and workload distribution as needed.
  • Participate in strategic planning and organizational initiatives related to clinical services.
  • Provide oversight of medication administration practices.
  • Review medication errors, incidents, and trends.
  • Ensure compliance with medication administration policies and state regulations.
  • Collaborate with prescribing providers, pharmacies, and healthcare partners.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case consultations.
  • Provide clinical guidance for individuals with complex medical and behavioral health needs.
  • Assist staff in developing individualized healthcare plans.
  • In collaboration with the Compliance Department, monitor quality indicators and clinical outcomes.
  • Conduct chart audits and documentation reviews.
  • Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Develop corrective action plans and monitor implementation.
  • Utilize quality improvement data to identify trends and improve service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, accreditation, and organizational standards.
  • Support licensing surveys, audits, and regulatory reviews.
  • Maintain current knowledge of healthcare regulations and best practices.
  • Monitor adherence to documentation standards and clinical requirements.
  • Develop and provide clinical education and training for nursing and direct support staff.
  • Coordinate competency assessments and skills validation.
  • Support onboarding and orientation of newly hired nursing staff.
  • Promote professional growth and continuing education opportunities.
  • Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health providers, therapists, case managers, direct support professionals, and community partners.
  • Serve as the clinical liaison between nursing staff and executive leadership.
  • Promote integrated, person-centered care across all Morrison Center programs.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and reports.
  • Assist with policy development and revision.
  • Participate in budget planning related to nursing services.
  • Complete required reports, evaluations, and performance reviews.
