About The Position

SSM Health Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture between Select Medical and SSM Health, is seeking a Nurse Manager for their Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital in Bridgeton, MO. This facility is dedicated to providing exceptional and compassionate care for individuals with a wide range of conditions including brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputations, and multiple traumas. Requirements

  • Valid State RN License required.
  • Three to five years experience including supervisory experience required.
  • BSN or enrollment in BSN program required.
  • Certified BLS before hire date required.
  • Certified ACLS or completion in first 6 months of employment required.

Nice To Haves

  • CRRN required after meeting eligibility requirements.
  • Clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Chief Nursing Officer and work alongside nurses to direct assigned nursing personnel.
  • Serve as a resource person and consultant to ensure the plan of care for the patient population.
  • Possess specialized knowledge and skills to facilitate patient treatment and staff development.
  • Provide and oversee patient care, implementing hospital and department philosophy and objectives.
  • Provide leadership during times of crisis to assure continuity of care and a productive work environment.
  • Maintain approved standards of patient care, collaborating with appropriate persons for continuity of care under the guidance of the Chief Nursing Officer.
  • Communicate clinical issues, as they relate to service or program development, to the CNO.
  • Promote clinical development, competency, and expertise in staff to maximize patient outcomes.
  • Evaluate performance of professional and non-licensed nursing personnel.
  • Cooperate in interviewing prospective staff.
  • Assure that all staff are accountable for documenting care provided, patient family teaching, and discharge planning on patients to which they are assigned.
  • Contribute to the smooth functioning of the unit by providing direction to staff, other departments, and families as needed.
