About The Position
The Nurse Manager at the Oncology Clinic/Infusion Center @ Wilmot Cancer Institute at Batavia is responsible for maintaining 24-hour accountability for all patient care and nursing activities on the assigned outpatient unit. This role oversees and directs unit activities, including standards development, human resource management, assessment of resource needs and utilization, staff development, and communication within nursing practice and among other disciplines and departments. The Nurse Manager also oversees all performance improvement activities at the unit level and participates in committees at various levels within the institution. This is a full-time position, primarily days, requiring recent acute care and Hematology-Oncology experience, leadership ability, and strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to UR Medicine's core values of people, excellence, and teamwork.
Requirements
- Recent acute care and Hematology-Oncology experience required.
- Demonstrate ability to function in a leadership role.
- Candidate must have the ability to work cohesively in a team or independently, have advance skills of organization, communication and the ability to multi-task.
- Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, be autonomous in decision-making, and have excellent assessment skills.
- Successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to the UR medicine’s core values of people, excellence and teamwork.
- BSN required, MS will be required in 5 years.
