About The Position

The Nurse Manager - ICU performs daily operational responsibilities including ensuring staff are scheduled to support census and that the department has the necessary supplies and equipment to care for patients. The role assumes responsibility for maintaining a high level of clinical expertise, adapting to new information, technology, and changing trends in nursing practice. The Nurse Manager is able to function as a clinical resource to maintain high nursing standards, follows all policies, and provides oversight for staff. The individual must be able to function effectively during an emergency patient care situation, display positive traits and qualities needed for a successful manager, and have the ability to work with changes in the environment and participate as a team player. Effective oversight of and delegation of tasks and assignments to appropriate health care team members is also a key function of this role.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of recent experience in an acute care setting: ICU experience required
  • Leadership experience as Manager, or other Supervisory role
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing Program
  • Registered Nurse with current California RN license.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification.
  • Basic EKG/tele interpretation experience required OR completing a Basic EKG class within six months of employment
