The BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center is designed to serve individuals experiencing acute mental health crises. It offers a range of urgent care services, including therapy, medication management, suicide prevention, and crisis intervention. Unlike traditional emergency rooms, the facility emphasizes a peaceful and therapeutic atmosphere.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with at least one (1) year of behavioral health experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Able to register as a QMHP trainee within 30 days of hire.
  • Strong psychiatric nursing knowledge, including administering psychotropic medications safely and familiarity with the DSM V.
  • Leadership skills are essential for planning, supervising, and evaluating staff performance.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Accurate medical record-keeping.
  • Data analysis for quality improvement.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Solid understanding of public health, community services, agency procedures, and counseling techniques is crucial for delivering high-quality care in crisis stabilization settings.
  • Ability to build strong relationships.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to risk management and reporting efforts.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordination and delivery of psychiatric and medical services for individuals experiencing acute mental health and substance use crises at our BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center.
  • Oversee rapid assessments, crisis interventions, medication administration, and ongoing clinical monitoring to help stabilize clients and reduce hospitalizations.
  • Supervise nursing staff.
  • Support the staff psychiatrist with medication management.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Shape health policies that promote safety, quality, and recovery.
