About The Position

The RN – Nurse Manager II is primarily responsible for the organization and implementation of daily unit operations of one or more specific nursing units. The Nurse Manager is also responsible to facilitate, coordinate, and evaluate unit activities for the provision of quality patient care. This individual shall demonstrate knowledge and understanding of organizational skills and interpersonal skills. The Nurse Manager will demonstrate the consistent ability to act as a role model by providing direction in the application of the nursing process, quality/performance improvement standards, and organizational/departmental goals and objectives. Additionally, the Nurse Manager is also responsible to allocate and the management of human resources in assigned areas. As a member of the Nursing Service Leadership Team, the Nurse Manager will assist in the development of long-term and short-term goals, objectives, policy development, and priority setting for the Nursing Department. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Requirements

  • Active RN licensure required.
  • BLS required.
  • Minimum 2 years staff nurse experience with progressive experience in nursing and nursing management required.
  • Evidence of commitment to continuing education.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Employee development and performance management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, etc) may be required depending upon area assigned.
