About The Position

The Division of Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat or ENT) at Children's Mercy provides expert care for children with all types of ear, nose/sinus, and airway problems. Our team of physicians, advanced practice nurses, and support staff are always ready to help your family. The ENT team works closely with many other specialists—including those in Audiology, Speech Pathology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology and Respiratory Care—to meet all our patient's needs. Manages unit-based patient care services; including personnel and fiscal management and development of programs and services. Participates in department and hospital performance improvement activities. Provides family centered patient care that is based in scientific theory and is outcome focused. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree BSN required and 1-2 years experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.
  • One of the following required upon hire: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas Missouri, Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri
  • RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
  • KS or MO Registered Nurse Multistate License required within 90 days of hire
  • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire
  • Specialty Certification relevant to unit's patient population (determined by Nurse Director) Required Upon Hire

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree MSN and 1-2 years experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Personnel management.
  • Comprehensive unit management and development of programs and services.
  • Participates in department and organization performance improvement activities.
  • Fiscal management and accountability.
  • Actively participates and provides leadership for education programs, unit meetings and assigned committees.
  • Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care for the patient/family which promotes optimal patient outcomes.
