About The Position

The Cardiac Nurse Manager for Diagnostic Imaging provides clinical, operational, and administrative leadership for nursing services supporting Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography operations. This role oversees daily workflow, staffing, patient care coordination, and regulatory compliance to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality diagnostic imaging services. The manager collaborates closely with physicians, operational leadership, sonographers, technologists, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize workflows, improve patient access and throughput, support service expansion, and implement new programs and clinical initiatives. The role is also responsible for staff development, quality improvement, performance management, and fostering a collaborative, patient-centered team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state required.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of cardiovascular nursing experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in cardiac stress testing, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography, or diagnostic imaging preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with outpatient operations, workflow optimization, and multidisciplinary team collaboration preferred.
  • Experience with quality improvement initiatives, performance metrics, and process optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Provides operational and clinical leadership for the diagnostic imaging nursing team supporting Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography services.
  • Oversees daily workflow, staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure efficient operations, timely patient access, and high-quality patient care.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory, accreditation, institutional, and radiation safety standards related to cardiac imaging and stress testing.
  • Supervises nursing staff performing exercise and pharmacologic cardiac stress testing in accordance with established protocols and accreditation guidelines.
  • Collaborates with physicians, sonographers, technologists, operational leadership, and departmental leadership to optimize workflows, improve throughput, support expansion of services, and implement new clinical programs and offerings.
  • Oversees nursing staff orientation, competency validation, education, training, and ongoing professional development within diagnostic imaging.
  • Supports quality improvement initiatives, process optimization, operational standardization, and performance improvement efforts across Nuclear Cardiology and Echo services.
  • Monitors operational and quality metrics including patient access, throughput, staffing utilization, patient satisfaction, and compliance indicators.
  • Provides leadership and support during emergency situations and ensures staff maintain competency in emergency response procedures related to stress testing and imaging services.
  • Participates in interviewing, hiring, coaching, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives to foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
