About The Position

Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs patient care duties. The LPN provides care based on the Nurse Practice Act and his/her assessed competency utilizing hospital established standards of care and practice. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an approved Licensed Practical Nurse program.
  • 30-hour IV Therapy Course for LPNs, approved by the Florida Board of Nursing pursuant to Rule 64B9-5.006.
  • Adheres to hospital policies and Florida Nurse Practice Act guidelines in providing patient care.
  • Demonstrates effective problem solving and communication skills with patients, families and other healthcare professionals.
  • Licensed to practice practical nursing in the state of Florida.
  • Current BLS from the American Heart Association.
  • Less than one (1) year - Training as an LPN.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year as a LPN with current BLS certification.
