About The Position

This role is for a Nurse Intern in the Trauma Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, KS. The intern will support patient well-being by assisting with daily living activities and monitoring vital signs. They will observe and report patient status and responses to their preceptor, assist in developing care plans based on observations and test results, and support the unit's workflow by preparing and transporting patients and ensuring a safe environment.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
• High school diploma/GED required.
• Must be accepted or enrolled into a Nursing program upon date of hire/transfer and begin classes within 90 days of date of hire/transfer.
• Currently pursuing a nursing degree through an accredited ADN, BSN, or MSN program.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Accurately monitor vital signs.
• Observe and document patient status and responses.
• Report patient observations to preceptor.
• Assist preceptor in developing comprehensive care plans.
• Prepare and transport patients for diagnostic services.
• Ensure a safe and clean environment for healing.
