About The Position

CTG is seeking Nurse Informaticists to serve as a strategic liaison between clinical operations, information technology, and healthcare leadership to optimize the use of technology in patient care delivery. This role leverages clinical expertise, workflow analysis, data analytics, and health information technology to improve patient outcomes, enhance clinician efficiency, support regulatory compliance, and drive organizational transformation. The Nurse Informaticist collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to design, implement, maintain, and optimize electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical applications while promoting evidence-based practice, change management, and continuous process improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical healthcare experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical informatics, healthcare technology, or EHR optimization experience.
  • Experience with Epic, Cerner, or other enterprise EHR platforms.
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows, quality reporting, regulatory requirements, and healthcare operations.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Nursing Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Informatics certification preferred (ANCC Nursing Informatics or equivalent).
  • Experience with Epic modules, population health, care management, clinical decision support, telehealth, and interoperability initiatives.
  • Knowledge of FHIR, USCDI, value-based care programs, and quality reporting frameworks.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between clinicians, operational leaders, and technical teams.
  • Translate clinical and business requirements into technology solutions that improve care delivery and user experience.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on clinical informatics strategy, governance, and best practices.
  • Support organizational initiatives focused on quality improvement, patient safety, and operational excellence.
  • Lead implementation, optimization, and sustainment of clinical applications, including Epic, Cerner, and integrated healthcare technologies.
  • Design and improve workflows related to ambulatory, inpatient, care management, population health, home health, hospice, women's health, and specialty service lines.
  • Develop clinical decision support tools, order sets, alerts, documentation templates, and workflow enhancements.
  • Participate in system upgrades, testing, validation, and go-live activities.
  • Conduct workflow assessments, gap analyses, and operational readiness evaluations.
  • Apply Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies to reduce inefficiencies and improve outcomes.
  • Design future-state workflows and facilitate adoption of technology-enabled care models.
  • Support telehealth, virtual care, and patient engagement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain governance structures supporting clinical applications, content management, quality reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, quality reporting programs, information blocking requirements, and industry standards.
  • Partner with executive, quality, informatics, and clinical leadership to prioritize strategic initiatives.
  • Support quality improvement and population health programs through data analysis and reporting.
  • Utilize clinical and operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities and measure outcomes.
  • Collaborate on value-based care initiatives, quality reporting, and interoperability strategies.
  • Support integration efforts utilizing FHIR, USCDI, and other healthcare data exchange standards.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for providers, nurses, and operational teams.
  • Lead change management initiatives promoting successful adoption of new technologies and workflows.
  • Mentor informatics staff, clinicians, and organizational stakeholders.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and communication throughout project lifecycles.
