About The Position

Cardinal Health's Clinical Operations team provides clinical specialties support and expertise in advice, consulting, research, and patient care to internal business units and external customers. The Individualized Care program focuses on providing care tailored to the specific needs of individual patients. This role supports two programs, combining patient education, clinical expertise, and patient safety activities. The nurse will work closely with pharmaceutical partners, healthcare professionals, and patients across multiple therapeutic areas. The Virtual Injection Training Nurse role involves providing individualized injection education and support to patients starting therapy with assigned pharmaceutical products. Responsibilities include receiving inbound patient calls, scheduling and completing outbound patient Welcome and Injection Training calls, conducting virtual injection training sessions via TEAMS, documenting patient interactions, and recognizing, documenting, and reporting adverse events. The Pharmacovigilance Registered Nurse role serves as a clinical resource for patient safety and regulatory compliance, partnering with stakeholders to manage safety information related to pharmaceutical products. Responsibilities include adverse event case intake and follow-up, reviewing and assessing safety information, performing clinical assessments, collaborating with various internal teams, supporting pharmacovigilance processes, and contributing to the identification and reporting of safety-related information.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience utilizing electronic documentation systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively; team focused

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience is preferred.
  • Experience in patient education, pharmaceutical support services, and/or pharmacovigilance, is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills preferred

Responsibilities

  • Receive and respond to inbound patient calls.
  • Schedule and complete outbound patient Welcome and Injection Training calls.
  • Conduct virtual injection training sessions via TEAMS for enrolled patients and caregivers.
  • Document patient interactions in accordance with program requirements.
  • Recognize, document, and report adverse events in compliance with FDA regulations and client requirements.
  • Conduct adverse event case intake and follow-up activities.
  • Review and assess safety information received from healthcare professionals, patients, and other reporting sources.
  • Perform clinical assessments and ensure accurate documentation of case information.
  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Support pharmacovigilance processes and maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the timely identification, escalation, and reporting of safety-related information.
  • Utilize strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills to evaluate complex patient scenarios.
